Extra! Extra! Read all about [her]! And by “her,” we mean the focus of this month’s Young MIAS Member Spotlight.
This month’s featured lawyer, who hails from the city of Cúcuta, Colombia (we told you that Colombia would be a trend in this series…), is a partner in White & Case’s International Arbitration Practice Group, where she specializes in international dispute resolution and transnational disputes involving sovereign states, with a particular focus on Latin America. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or are new to the Miami IA scene, you know who we’re talking about – but hey, we’ll come out and say it anyway: the focus of this month’s Young MIAS Member Spotlight is the stellar Estefanía San Juan!
Estefanía’s experience includes representing clients in international investment arbitrations before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and under the UNCITRAL rules, as well as in commercial arbitration and related litigations in various forums. These cases have spanned various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, mining, and sovereign debt. She also advises clients on complex civil matters across multiple jurisdictions that involve regulatory, legislative, and policy issues. In addition to her casework, Estefanía has been a key driver in the growth of White & Case's international arbitration team in Miami and is passionate about recruiting, training, and mentoring White & Case’s world-class corps of international arbitration lawyers. As if that were not impressive enough, Estefanía is multilingual in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and is licensed to practice in Florida and the District of Columbia.
In her free time, you can find Estefanía enjoying Pinecrest Gardens, Fairchild (Tropical Botanic Gardens), and Matheson Hammock Park with her family, including her two daughters and her 92-year-old grandmother.
