Young MIAS Member Spotlight: Eldy Quintanilla Roche

Updated: Jul 16

At long last, our favorite day of the month is here! That’s right, it’s time to unveil the person that this month’s Young MIAS Member Spotlight is focused on...

This month’s featured lawyer, originally from the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, is a senior associate in King & Spalding’s International Arbitration team, where she leverages her civil law background and language capabilities to represent her clients in English and Spanish language arbitrations before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) as well as in ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules. When she’s not striking fear in her opponents’ hearts on paper and in the hearing room, this person can be found teaching at the University of Miami School of Law or sightseeing around the mountains in her (part-time) home state of Colorado. She is also – certifiably – one of the kindest individuals in the field. If the first clues did not give it away, the last one must have – the focus of this month’s Young MIAS Member Spotlight is none other than the amazing Eldy Quintanilla Roche!

Edly's favorites are scallops crudo, corn, lomo saltado.

"Although it's located on the border of Miami's ultra-trendy Wynwood neighborhood, Enriqueta's makes no attempt to appeal to the Instagrammers who swarm this area. Instead, this Cuban diner and lunch counter focuses on one thing and one thing only: serving up hearty, flavorful, and reasonably-priced meals to the longtime locals who've become regulars—and to visitors in search of a truly unforgettable Cuban sandwich." Southern Living, February 2024

Edly's favorites are "pan con bistec" and the crowd-pleaser sandwich "Cubano preparado" (below)

BOCAS speciality drink

Edly's favorites are: pollo con tajadas, desayuno típico with maduros.

  • Favorite thing about practicing international arbitration in Miami:

The energy of the arbitration community here and the opportunity to grow along with the ability to reconnect with colleagues, friends, and students not only from Miami but from all over the world who have moved here in recent years.

Eldy is one of many stellar practitioners in the Miami market. If you want to learn more about our amazing community, keep your eyes on the Young MIAS page for future Young MIAS Member Spotlight posts!
