MIAS is thrilled to announce that Flora Patel, a 3L at Stetson University College of Law, is the recipient of this year's Burt Landy Best Oralist Award. This prestigious recognition celebrates Flora’s exceptional advocacy skills and her remarkable dedication to international arbitration.

Flora’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. As a first-generation college and law school student, she is on the path to becoming the first attorney in her family—a testament to her perseverance and passion for the law. Her academic journey began at the University of Georgia, where she double-majored in International Affairs and Political Science, laying the foundation for her impressive career trajectory.

At Stetson, Flora has made her mark as a standout member of the Stetson VIS Competition team for the past two years, competing twice in the Wilhelm C. Vis Pre-Moot Competition in Miami. Her commitment extends beyond the courtroom as she leads her peers as Student Bar Association President and serves as a Senior Stetson Ambassador.

Flora’s dedication, leadership, and advocacy have truly set her apart, earning her the well-deserved honor of the Burt Landy Best Oralist Award. We are excited to see her continue to excel and make a meaningful impact in the field of international arbitration.

Congratulations, Flora! Your achievements inspire us all.
